More changes have been made to child car seat laws, and stricter rules will come into force later this year.
The current UK law states that all children under 12 years old or under 135cm tall must use the correct car seat. The new law states that backless booster seats can only be used for children taller than 125cm and weighing more than 22kg.
Though backless booster seats are cheap and satisfy the current law requirements, they lack the crash protection needed therefore opting for a high-backed child car seat is recommended.
